Making things happen and carrying out a transversal change takes time, and 10 years later, the transformation that the Altiplano Estepario is undergoing is a reality. El País has echoed the change of model that is taking place in this area of the Iberian Peninsula, thanks to the work of the AlVelAl Association, which forms part of the AlVelAl Foundation.
The report signed by journalist Javier Martín-Arroyo, together with photographer Paco Puentes, takes stock of the 🔟 years of life of this association, and of the real transformation that is materialising.
These are some of the figures he collects:
✅ 240,000 trees and shrubs, replanted to regenerate the landscape.
192 km2 of agricultural areas coexisting with natural vegetation to enrich the soil.
✅ 23 municipalities have joined the ‘Manifesto for a regenerative territory’.
👉 The number of farmers who are part of this change has multiplied by 10 in the 10 years of Alvelal’s life.
