Carbon farming is here to stay and the Farms4climate project has demonstrated the reasons that make it viable. This project is coming to an end, and the main conclusions of these years of research were shared on March 26 and 27 at the Archbishop Fonseca College in Salamanca, in our country.

The representatives of the partners from Italy, Greece, Tunisia and Egypt also participated in this meeting that has shown the main results and knowledge obtained during this project, which has been a fundamental collaboration to advance in carbon agriculture and the promotion of sustainable agricultural practices throughout the Mediterranean arc.

A delegation from Fundación Aland and Asociación Alvelal travelled to Salamanca, together with a representation of farmers who were able to exchange their experience with other participants, and our research colleagues from INIA, Instituto Nacional de Investigación y Tecnología Agraria and UPM, Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, were present at this meeting to share all the knowledge transfer of the Living Lab that has been developed in the Alvelal territory.

Carbon agriculture has been a turning point both in the development of regenerative practices and in the possibility of diversifying the economy of the agricultural sector. Therefore, Aland has proposed to consolidate all that has been learned and to be able to continue advancing with a new project that can give continuity to the current one.

A fundamental part of the activity of Fundación Aland is to participate and be part of European projects and consortiums that allow us to work as a network to continue taking steps towards a development model that makes ecology and economy compatible, thanks to the restoration of landscapes, territories and regenerative agriculture, among others.
